Happy Birthday Baby Girl

It's so hard to believe you are 8!  You made sure i got one last 7yr old hug and kiss before bed :(  It makes me want to hold strong to the memories.  I stop and stare at just how uniquely beautiful you are.  

You make me want to be more courageous, wiser and kinder so I can experience life through your eyes.   I pray that I am teaching you to be stronger and resilient in life.   I pray that I am caring for your heart so you know just how deeply you are loved and cherished.  Not just by your family but by God who made you perfectly just the way you are!

I love your freckles and your sense of humor! I love that you have perfect hair and are short just like me (thanks for making it a club! )  I love that you have rythm and you are always dancing through life.   I love your fearless outside and tender heart.  

I will never get over this blessing that is you!

I have read so many letters to daughters by other moms just trying to find the words to share with you on your birthday.   For some reason as a mom is a day of reflection as our kids get older.   The truth is, no words can express just how we feel.   It's truly more of an experience.

You are beautiful.   You are constantly complemented on your sky blue eyes and long blond hair.   You are so tall and slender and always smiling.   I find most of your beauty on the inside.   You are honest to your soul! You have a tender heart full of compassion.  You are competitive, driven and love life.  You have found amazing friends are I am already seeing you seek God in your life. 

I am so proud of you!  Please continue to love life, spread that contagious laugh, embrace change, be generous and forgiving.   We sing this song in the car that has a catch tune but one verse sticks out to me "So let the light guide your way,
Hold every memory as you go
And every road you take, will always lead you home"
