Sick Girl

We have had our share of sickness lately.  First Olivia had the stomach bug for about 2 1/2 days.  Seemed like you couldn't even stand ginger ale or Gatorade.  By the end of day 3 she looked like she had lost 10lbs and for those who know her....she doesn't have even 1lb to lose.  Then Hannah woke up with the croup and that has turned into a sinus infection and ear ache.  Each night it seems like she begs to go to bed because she is soooo tired but the minute she falls asleep she is coughing so bad we have to get her up.

It is this beautiful dance really.  I get you in a steamy bath and you sleep up against the side until the water turns off.  You immediately start crying to get out.  I put you into my bed and get you on a breathing treatment and you watch cartoons until its done.  We snuggle in and close our eyes but still somehow you can't seem to stop coughing.  I give you a cough drop and downstairs we go.  Its much cooler downstairs so I get you all tucked in the little couch and I take the big one.  We watch TV until you basically pass out.

Its very painful for a mommy to watch her girls be so sick. You really don't even think about how tired you are until 3 weeks have gone by without a good nights sleep.  All you can really think of is what you can do to make it all better.  I am praying for a good nights sleep tonight!

Sleep-Over!

Its a nice night for an sleepover!   You girls love to invite people to sleep over....the funny thing is that Olivia hates to have anyone sleep in her bed.  Strange but that's how she has always been.  She doesn't want to sleep at anyones house and she likes people to sleep over but only if they sleep with Hannah or on the air mattress.  She likes her own bed and by herself!  Good thing she is ok with going on vacation.

So tonight we have August sleeping over.  You guys invited her little brother too.  I think he would have stayed very innocently but we don't need to be starting anything on that note!  We went to dinner with her family and she is going to come to church and lunch with us tomorrow.  She is kind and nuturing making her a great role-model for both of you.
Everyone has had a shower and we are enjoying a little relaxation!  Good night GIRLS....sleep tight!

Happy Halloween

We had a fun time trick-or-treating this year with all of our friends.  Daddy and Doug dressed up to scare the kids in the neighborhood and hand out candy.  I think they had a really good time too!

Happy Birthday Grayson

Today we celebrated Grayson's 1st birthday.  You girls had a lot of fun painting pumpkin, playing with the petting zoo animals and watching Grayson play in his cake.  It was a very fun day!

Faces Everyone....Faces!

What a wonderful day we had at the farmer's market with some of your best friends.  We went to pick out our carving pumkins and get a hot dog!  You girls wanted to get your picture made in the cute stands they had set up!

Happy 89th Birthday Nana

Ever since I was young, we always celebrated our birthday in some way on our actual day.  Our parties may be on the weekend before, or weekend after, but on our special day we always did a little something to celebrate.  I guess thats where I get it from but even today that is something I hold close to my heart.

Today is a very special day!  It is Nana's 89th birthday and we just had to celebrate.  I worked today out of town and stopped in this delightful bakery and picked up a beautiful 5flavor pound cake.  Right after work I picked you girls up and we were off to Nana's house.  We helped her get ready and out the door for a birthday dinner she would never forget!  You both love the cafeteria and of course think that everyone else does too.  I don't think Nana would have cared where we went she was just excited to go.  We had a nice dinner just us girls and then we headed back to Nana's house where daddy and Mimi met us for cake!

You both sang her "happy birthday" and were patient enough to let her blow out her own candle!  I treasure memories like this.  It is wonderful to see how happy that you make her just by being in her presence.  I pray that these memories hold dear to you as you grow up as well.  It is not very often that you find families like ours that live so close together.  Nor is it very often that kids like you get the joy of growing up with great-grandparents.  Its a lesson of gratitude for me!
