Happy Birthday to You....and You!

This made our 3rd annual birthday pool party.  You both had a blast with all your friends.  We had a water slide, slip and slide, 2 kiddie pools, water squirters and water balloons.  Oh yeah and who could forget the inevitable rain shower.  We got a good hour of playing in, hotdogs cooked on the grill before the monsoon hit! We all took cover in the house and the garage for cake and presents.  Even with the rain it was well after 9pm before the last people left.

Olivia, you are growing into a beautiful young lady.  You are full of intuition and kindness.  You have a caring touch and a sensitive heart and such long hair and legs!  You say you want to be a doctor when you grow up, you want to get married but don’t want any babies.  You talk about going ot college and living at home FOREVER.  Your favorite thing to do is dance and sing with your friends and put on performances for all of us.  You are super smart but not always patient.  You can read and spell far better than most kids your age but you don’t have any patience for good penmanship or detailed coloring.  You are a straight A student!  You are a hugger and a kisser, quick to make rules for everything, quick to apologize and a stickler for routine.  I think you will make a fine law abiding citizen, a best friend, a proud wife and a caring daughter that will always stay close to home. You have a world of opportunites ahead of you sweet girl!

Hannah, you are a beautiful ray of sunshine.  I often tell people that you were born an instant 3yr old. (of course because your sister was 3 when you were born)  The same holds true today.  You want to do and be “zactly the same as ya ya” as you always say.  You are full of energy and can hold your own with all the big kids.  You have rhythm and are so cute making up dances with the girls.  You are still a little girl and we have to sometime remember that you need to eat often and take naps so not to get too grumpy.  You have curly hair and little freckles across your nose.  You mix up words like headford= forehead.  Reminds us to hold on you the baby girl left in you.  You don’t like to be held, or hugged too often.  You will apologize but it would be a safer bet that it will be followed with a handshake rather than a hug. The other day I saw you cheering with all the big girls on the street only you were laying in the grass.  It took me a few minutes to figure out that you were doing it because you didn’t want them to pick you up or be on their pyramids.  You are a free spirit!  I think you will explore the world one day, I don’t worry at all about you taking care of yourself, you will stand up for what you believe in and always put up a good fight.  I think you will be slow to settle down but will be an awesome mom one day.  Give the world a run for their money baby girl…..just stay out of trouble!

Gone Fishin

I have an urge each year around birthday times.  An urge to show you something new, something you have never seen or done before.  This year after Olivia's birthday dinner.....we went fishing!  Off to Walmart for poles and bug spray and out to fish at 8pm.  Crazy I know but Uncle Jun Jun was going and we couldn't resist the opportunity.  It was so special to me because I know he loves you girls so much and to see him light up to have the chance to show you something new was great.  The innocence of a child truly shines at the sight of a new adventure!

Olivia was quick to catch the 1st one and it was perfect because it was her actual birthday.  How cool to catch your first fish on your birthday.  We had to come back the next day so Hannah could try again.  Practice must make perfect because she not only caught a fish but also a turtle!

Happy Easter!

Well we did go to church this morning.............it was a bit crazy because you were both grouchy so no beautiful pictures of you in your dresses ready for church :(  Thats ok such as life.  We got good pictures of the Easter Bunny surprises.

After church poppie had made us a wonderful lunch and mimi had Easter baskets for both of you.

We went to see nana and take her some lunch and then home to play.  I really needed to get the garden in shape so you girls were happy to help me pull weeds and dig in the dirt.  Before I knew it Hannah had taken on her shirt and was laying in the garden.  Then you were both running from across the yard and jumping in the garden.  Too cute and tooooo dirty!  I had to wash you both off outside with soap and water before taking you in and scrubbing you down!

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

For the last 3yrs or so we have been doing an Easter Egg Hunt in the back yard.  Each year it has gotten bigger and bigger and bigger!  We talked briefly about it and suddenly I came home from work and you girls (and mimi) had invited the all the neighbors in the circle!  You didn't think it was very many people but by the time it all added up......15kids~yikes!  It turned out to be a wonderful day.

We decorated 7 dozen boiled eggs and hid at least 425 plastic eggs and baked 4 dozed cupcakes!

Road Trip!!!

Well we had out 1st girls trip this week and it was amazing!  It was Dax's birthday and it also happened to be a 1/2 day of school today so we hopped in the car and made the trip up to the mountains.  It is right at 3hrs away and you girls did great. We stopped just past half way for a potty break and that was it.  Dax was so excited to see you girls.  We went to dinner and relaxed at Louise's house for the night!
