It's here!

Christmas is here!  We have had a hard time deciding if it had come so quickly or if it had taken forever. .....either way is here!   The elf (Ginger) has found her last hiding place, baking is all done, and Santa has arrived.   Nana has tried for 7yrs to spend Christmas eve night with us and it had finally happened.   I can't wait to share the morning excitement with her!

Schools out!

Well after 2 Christmas performances and 2 class parties back to back, we decided to skip the last half day of school.....shhhh.

Hannah dreaded her performance and put up a stink about wearing her own dress.   Once we agreed nio to video the show she got into it.  Olivia took advantage of having a male teacher who let them pig out on junk food the entire day yesterday. She exited the building with a candy cane in her mouth and a smile in her face.

Now onto a wild 2 weeks at home!

Anniversary Date

What a surprise! We have a very busy month and for lots of reasons we just didn't squeeze in an anniversary dinner this year.   We chose to do a lunch date tomorrow instead.   The girls took it upon themselves to give us a dessert date!   They decorated the dining room by putting flashlights in the flower arrangement, putting music on there ipod, putting out coasters and suckers lol.  I started feeling like one of those parents on the commercials when they made us icecream sundaes with grape jelly, chocolate syrup and a load of sprinkles!  I managed to dodge the jelly but daddy didn't ;)  Hannah was entertainment!   She put on her Halloween costume and was our "comedy".  We got a lot of knock knock jokes and funny stories.   It was the sweetest evenings of thoughtfulness!

School days

So we are a month into school and it has been a rocky start.   I aim to keep positive in my thoughts here but also feel it's important to be reminded of these days.   About mid year last year Olivia started suffering from severe anxiety.   We thought it was due to a built in her glad but are now realizing it was possibly just brought to light by that.   It has been very present this year as well and with her permission I hope to share more as the school year goes on.  We have sought help in books, school, church, doctors and family so we feel like we are better understanding of it day by day.   It effects the while family and we are also learning more of how to ensure Hannah is getting enough of our attention. To say it is a struggle is a huge understatement.   We are taking it day by day and if we make it thru the day with no tears, we call it a success!   We pray for peace and understanding with it all and are happy to see progress each day.
