Dreaded Day at the Dentist

Oh Hannah what a day.  You were such a brave little girl.  The dentist told us a few weeks back that you had a bad cavity and a couple of other spots they were watching that needed to be fixed.  We all agreed with your reservations at the dentist it was best to do these repairs while you were fast asleep so today we were off to the surgery center.  You brought your monkey with you and he received the star treatment just as you did. He got booties, a name bracelet and a hair net.  You both looked so cute.  When it was time, the nurses let me and daddy walk you all the way to the door and you did so well to keep walking right on back with them.  They let you pick out a warm blanket and off you went.

When it was all over they called us back to see you.  A nice nurse was holding you in a chair and you were quite fussy.  I scooped you up and you snuggled in back to sleep after a few kisses.  You rested most of the day and had a froggy sound to your voice.  You told everyone that you didn't like the mean dentist and don't ever want to go back there~!  Such a brave girl to be only 3yrs old.  Much braver than mommy today!

Toys vs. Snow?

Santa has brought tons of new toys and God has brought tons of fluffy white snow.  What are we to do?  Well I can say with all honesty I don't think you touched one single toy today!  From the time you got up until the time you went to bed we have played in the snow both outside and in.  It was a beautiful snow about 6-8 inches worth. You enjoyed playing with your friends, sledding down the driveway and also down a big hill behind out house.  When we got too cold and needed a break we went inside for homemade chicken noodle soup and chocolatey snow cream.  Everyone will sleep good tonight!

Gumball Machines and Rings!

It was a wonderful Christmas and definitely one to remember!  Mimi and Poppie came over and were hear to watch you come down stairs to see what Santa had left.  You were both so excited.  There was one really BIG package that Hannah thought was the gumball machine that she had been asking Santa for.  As you sat down Hannah 1st opened a gumball machine and started screaming with excitement.  Olivia had been asking and hoping for a ring (one without the adjustable section on the bottom.)  That was her 1st gift as well.

You girls went on to open a big two sided doll house and several barbies to go along with it, DS games and a new purse bag to carry it, new TVs for your room and a barbie pull along tote are the most memorable things.  We ate a little breakfast, got dressed and played for a bit before on to our first stop!

Mimi and Poppie were most excited to have you come for gifts and lunch at their house.  Their were more barbies and adorable wooden kitchen toys along with gumball machine and movies.  We enjoyed their company along with Uncle Jun Jun and shortly after Aunt Kathy and Kimberly joined us.  With all the excitement everyone decided it was time to eat lunch at 10:30am?!?!  We all snacked and played a while before.... yes, on to our next stop!  Much to our surprise it has already started to snow and now its sticking on the grass!  Could turn out to be a white Christmas...

We are off to Grandmommy and Grandaddy's house for more gifts and more food!  Emily and Brannon were there along with Nana. Olivia was most excited to receive her IPod and a boom box to play her music.  Hannah also got a boom box player.  There were many other games and toys to go along with it.  Ham, fruit and macaroni and cheese were on your Christmas dinner menu!

The snow has been steadily coming down and is now covering the roads. We set off for home and decided that all our leftovers and toys were still at Mimi's house.  We made a quick stop and headed home.  Several of the kids in the neighborhood were our making snowmen.  We bundled up and headed out for a late night play in the snow.  We made 4 snowmen and did lots of sledding before we came in around 9pm.  We are all exhausted and it is still snowing really hard.  Off to bed after a very busy and fun filled Christmas Day.

Santa Is Watching

So lately Mommy has found herself saying "You better stop that, Santa is watching!"  Its Christmas Eve and we are on our way to church.  Daddy says something silly to you girls.  Hannah, very quick and serious, blurted out to him "Daddy you better be nice because Santa is watching."  Hilarious!

We went on to church, blessed to be with Mimi and Poppie, Grandmommy and Granddaddy, Aunt Kathy and Kimberly, Krystal and Ryan with Baby Grayson, and Jun Jun.  Surrounded by family and God's love makes for a wonderful Christmas Eve.  We went on to have dinner with Grandmommy and Granddaddy at Elizabeth's Pizza and stopped by Mimi and Poppie's house for a quick visit.  They wanted to give you a recordable book they made from the story about Frosty and a little dancing Frosty character.  It was a big hit.

Daddy was nice enough to run mommy by the store to grab a last minute Christmas gift.  We quickly made it home to sprinkle out our Reindeer food and set out Santa's cookies and off to bed because Santa is watching!

"Does God Love Us"

There are times when something special is happening at church and we bring the kids to "big church" with us.  Today we anticipated there to be a lot of Christmas music and performances so the kids came with us in their beautiful xmas dresses.  Olivia sat beside Aunt Kathy and Kimberly and as the hour went on I drug out the pens and she took today's bulletin to draw on.  She filled out the visitor section with her name and address and continued to fill in the boxes asking if she was married, a visitor, etc. (Aunt Kathy if you are reading please take note of her prayer requests!)  Towards the bottom I see the part that says My Question is____________________.  Olivia has filled in her childlike handwriting "Does God Love Us?"

There are times when something special happens when you least expect it.  It was just the reminder I needed that they ARE listening and they DO know about God.  I have always believed that you don't have to know it all about God to be a Christian, it needs to be enough that you desire to know and learn more.  Today was truly a blessing for my heart.

A Pretzel for Santa?

You girls had a very special day!  We set out to the mall for your visit with Santa.  Poppie wouldn't miss seeing you girls light up for Santa and take the opportunity to grab a picture and cute frame to give to Mimi.  Hannah was a bit hesitant and yelled from afar that she would like a gumball machine for Christmas but Olivia you were brave as usual hopping right on Santa's lap.  The sweetest thing came out of your mouth as you tenderly asked Santa for a doll house for you and your baby sister!  You snuck in a DS game or two for yourself and that's quite okay!

Oh Hannah you caught us all by surprise as you were telling Santa goodbye and informing him that you were off to get a pretzel, you blurted out "Santa, you want a pretzel?"  "I'll bring you one.......what kind do you like?"  Santa laughed and told you and sissy to surprise him.  And surprise him you did.  We returned a short time later with a cinnamon pretzel just for Santa.  He happened to be taking a break for lunch so you and Olivia ran up and tried out his chair and nicely left him a sweet treat to enjoy when he got back.

I am sure some people will read this and think you were leaving Santa a little bribe!  I know that it was your tender little hearts just being kind and giving!

Kathy's Cookies

Every year you go to Aunt Kathy's house just before Christmas and bake tons of cookies and other sweet treats.  I am not usually invited to come, but this year we made it a girls day with Krystal, Kimberly, Kathy, Mimi, Mommy and you girls.  It was so much fun.  We made Santas, Angels, Candy Canes and Snowmen.  Krystal and I even made a little competition against Aunt Kathy on who could decorate the cookies the cutest.  I think Mommy and Krystal won!

Hannah said what?

9:30pm-kids have been in bed for 30mins.  I was on my way downstairs very quietly, so I thought.  As my foot hit the first step I hear Hannah call out loudly "Mommy".....(feeling somewhat defeated) "yes Hannah"......"I got Justin Beiber in my heart!"......"Okay Hannah"

Let the giggles begin. I hear you in there Olivia!  You know she gets this all from you!  Goodnite girls.
