Day 20-end of the rainbow

Some where at the end of a rainbow you will find......our home!   There was no progress today unless you count the inspectors flags notating areas that need to be addressed before concrete is poured :(  Interest rates continue to rise....ugh!  But as we peaked outside tonight we were captured by the beautiful rainbow seeming to end right at our new home spot.
There have been several times (really tough days like the day after my dads heart attack, a day my brother was in the hospital) when beautiful rainbows can be seen right over the hospital for instance.  Its like they are there as reminders that God is there too.  We all need those reminders to keep faith and remember that there is someone else paving our way!

Day 19

It's day 19 and we finally see a little progress.   It looks like they might be pouring concrete tomorrow which is very exciting! The kids are really enjoying going by the house everyday.   Sometimes we walk and they ride scooters.   Some nights like tonight when they spent 3hrs at dance camp and 2hrs in the pool, we drive over to check in.   It is so nice to be right across the street.   I remember driving out to the old house when we built it and it was a haul every night.  I think it would be tough to do that with kids.

Bad parenting 101

Well today is Hannah's birthday.......but she doesn't know it.   I know, I know bad mom.  I am not sure who started it but someone started saying something about her real birthday on Tuesday and its all down hill from there. Next thing you know she has a birthday lunch planned with grandmommy and granddaddy, we have a cake, she is edited about her decorations.   She wakes up and I wished her a happy birthday and let her open a morning gift and off to dance camp she went.   Out wasn't until I sat down at my desk that I realized that we had it all wrong but it was too late.  No going back.   So we partied like it was June 19th! She had a blast and didn't have a clue.  Hope she gets a laugh about it one day.

Underway!

Well our new house is finally underway!   Not much more than pipes and dirt but its a start and we are excited.  This is day 14.  Have had lots of rain and a little set back with the lot but as you can see we should see a foundation soon.

Going..... Going......Gone!

We decided to look into selling our house the beginning of April.   We met with a realtor and our house was on the market within a week and 2 weeks later it was sold!  We couldn't believe it.  They gave us 30 days to move which meant 2 weeks because we couldn't really do anything until appraisal and inspection were done.   So here we are.  Our very last day in our 1st home.  We moved in when we were so young (23 and 24) and have grown up ourselves there over the last 10yrs.  Its been an amazing adventure and a great place to raise a family.   We have had great neighbors and the girls have had lots of friends.
There is only a small part of me that saddens with the thought of moving.  It is the house we brought both our babies to and there are lots of memories of neighborhood Easter egg hunts and huge backyard birthday bashes for the girls.  Riding bikes with no training wheels, sledding down the driveway a thousand times and making snowmen until midnight Christmas night.
But I am looking forward to this new chapter with a new house and new friends and new memories.   God has shown us in so many ways that this is the next chapter in our journey.   The transition has been exhausting but seamless and every time we even think to ask "how will we" or "how can we" its not long before we see the way.  We are a blessed little family looking forward to October :)

Hannah's 1st missing tooth

Hannah pulled her 1st tooth May 11th.  I'm a little late posting but seeing as she's its about to be missing another one I figured I better hurry!

Happy 9th Birthday Olivia

Can't even believe how fast time flies.   At the same time you are so mature for your age it is sometimes hard to believe you are only 9.  You are extremely intuitive and have a crazy memory both of which I rely on a lot of times :)  You are someone that I trust and know I can count on no matter what.   I love that most about you and I think you will always be that way.   You are sensitive, You are family oriented, You are beautiful and have the most amazing marble blue eyes and perfectly highlighted hair, you always wear a smile and have a very contagious laugh!  You love babies and enjoy helping me in the kitchen, You love meat and rarely complain.   You are awesome in school always making straight A's, You won the citizenship award for your class, 2 AG awards and the female Art award for 3rd grade that landed a piece of your work ag the state fair this year.  SO proud of you!  I love that these are traits that are yours to share with your sister and I see everyday how well you balance each other.  Continue to have a kind and patient heart little lady!

Love you Goose,
Mommy
